Apple has confirmed to Wired via e-mail that it will begin accepting online pre-orders of the iPhone 5 during the wee hours of the morning beginning at 12:01 a.m. PDT on Sept. 14. So if you’re hankering for a new iPhone 5, be prepared to fire up the coffee machine tonight.
Apple’s carrier partners Sprint, AT&T and Verizon have also confirmed that pre-orders will begin on early Friday morning. Sprint and AT&T will begin pre-orders at 12:01 a.m. PDT Sept. 14, while Verizon will throw open its online doors a full minute earlier at 12 a.m. PDT Sept. 14.
If you’re the type of person that enjoys standing in lines, the new iPhone 5 will be available for purchase in Apple retail stores beginning at 8 a.m. local time on Sept. 21.
